and priorities through a Three-Minute Thesis session – a lightning round of talks from each attendee, evaluated and updated the Team’s implementation plan, and learned about the fascinating work done in area facilities on site visits to the Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML), the Southeast Fisheries Science Center (SEFSC), the National Hurricane Center and the Miami-South Florida Weather Forecast Office, and the Cooperative Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Studies (CIMAS) at the University of Miami. Several team members stayed to participate in the Gulf of Mexico Integrated Ecosystem Assessment (IEA) meeting, spurring conversation on communicating scientific information to maximize reach and benefit to stakeholders, ways other NOAA and partner offices could contribute to the IEA effort, and the newly-released Gulf of Mexico Ecosystem Status Report.
