The NERR will help to coordinate efforts already being undertaken by the organizations within the site area.  It will also help with long term monitoring and research opportunities.  Among other things, the NERR will has already begun to focus NOAA resources in the area with projects like invasive species removal (Restoration Center and Office for Coastal Management), mapping (National Geodetic Survey), and coordination around issues related to climate change and sea level rise (Office for Coastal Management and NESDIS Regional Climate Services Director).
