Southeast & Caribbean Region

Have you been wondering where future shallow coastal flooding and sea level rise might impact communities and habitats in Florida and Georgia? Being able to visualize potential impacts from inundation is a powerful communication and planning tool. NOAA brings this capability to coastal communities in the Sea Level Rise and Coastal Flooding Impacts Viewer. The Viewer features coastal flooding scenarios with visualizations of local landmarks, uncertainty maps, flood frequency information, marsh impacts, and social and economic vulnerability information.  A “Frequently Asked Questions” section explains the tool’s data, modeling approach, and functionality. The Viewer covers the West Coast states, most Gulf Coast states, and Florida and Georgia in the Southeast. Additional coastal states and the U.S. territories will be added in 2013.
